Shimla (Kameshwar Sharma): The Chitta Drug Network has exposed a large interstate narcotics racket operating across multiple states. During the investigation of cases registered in Rohru and Kotkhai, Shimla Police traced a Chitta supply chain linked to Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, and Chandigarh.
Police officials described the operation as one of the biggest crackdowns against drug trafficking in Himachal Pradesh.
Abhishek said investigators used technical analysis, call records, digital evidence, and financial transactions to track the network. Police teams are now targeting both small peddlers and major suppliers connected to the illegal business.
Main Supplier Arrested from Uttar Pradesh
During a press conference in Shimla, ASP Abhishek revealed important details about the investigation.
Police initially arrested two accused after recovering 53 grams of Chitta in the Rohru case. During interrogation and digital investigation, officials discovered that the accused had been receiving drugs from a supplier based in Uttar Pradesh.
Investigators identified the main supplier as Salman Haider. After tracing his role in the network, Shimla Police conducted raids in Uttar Pradesh and arrested him.
Further investigation and financial analysis later helped police arrest another key supplier, Thomas Masih, from Gurdaspur.
Chandigarh Connection Also Exposed
The Shimla Police Drug Network Bust also uncovered another major drug network linked to Chandigarh.
In the Kotkhai case, police recovered a pistol, Meth Crystal Ice, and heroin from accused individuals. During questioning, investigators traced the network to Chandigarh.
Police arrested the main supplier, identified as Golu, from Dadu Majra area of Chandigarh.
Officials said the gang supplied drugs to young people in Himachal Pradesh and maintained links with networks operating in several states.
24 Major Chitta Drug Network Destroyed
ASP Abhishek stated that Shimla Police has intensified anti-drug operations throughout 2026. So far, investigators have arrested 33 accused by tracing backward linkages in different cases.
Police also dismantled 24 major drug trafficking networks during the year. According to officials, these supply chains extended to Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh, and Kerala.
Authorities believe strong technical investigation and financial tracking have helped police reach the top layers of interstate narcotics operations.
Police Promise Stronger Action Against Drug Mafia
The Shimla Police Drug Network Bust highlights the state police’s aggressive campaign against narcotics trafficking. Officials said police will continue strict action against drug smugglers and suppliers at every level.
ASP Abhishek stated that protecting youth from drug addiction remains a top priority for the police department.
