Chamba (Kameshwar Sharma): The Chamba Road Accident claimed six lives after a vehicle plunged into a deep gorge in Himachal Pradesh’s Chamba district early Monday morning.
According to reports, the accident occurred between 3:00 am and 4:00 am near the Kakir area during heavy rainfall and strong winds. The vehicle, bearing registration number HP01M-2961, was travelling from Dalhousie to Manali when the driver reportedly lost control.
The vehicle suddenly skidded off the road and fell into a deep gorge, causing panic and chaos at the accident site.
Police and Locals Launch Rescue Operation
After receiving information about the Chamba Road Accident, police teams rushed to the spot and immediately started rescue operations with the help of local residents.
Abhishek Yadav also reached the accident site and supervised the rescue efforts personally.
Despite darkness, rain, and strong winds, police personnel and local people worked together to pull victims out of the gorge. The difficult weather conditions made the rescue operation extremely challenging.
Six Dead, Four Seriously Injured
Officials said the vehicle carried 10 passengers at the time of the accident. Six people died on the spot, while four others suffered serious injuries.
Rescue teams shifted the injured victims for primary treatment before referring them to Dr. Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College for advanced medical care.
