The Education Minister inaugurated two newly constructed rural roads in Gram Panchayat Ravi under Jubbal Sub-Division, marking another step toward infrastructure development in the region. The Turan–Hamran link road, built at a cost of ₹35 lakh, and the Turan–Upper Prem Nagar link road, constructed for ₹20 lakh, were formally opened for public use.
During the inauguration ceremony, the minister extended greetings to local residents and assured that development works in the area would be accelerated in the coming years.
Addressing a public gathering in Hamran, Education Minister Rohit Thakur said he shares a deep emotional and family connection with the Shurachali region. He recalled that since the tenure of former Chief Minister late Thakur Ramlal, he has consistently received affection and blessings from the people of the area, expressing confidence that this support will continue.
Major Road Upgrade Worth ₹17 Crore
Highlighting ongoing development initiatives, the minister stated that the Saraswati Nagar–Jhadashali road, one of the most important routes in the region, is being upgraded at a cost of ₹17 crore. He added that development momentum has reached the Jubbal-Nawar-Kotkhai constituency along with the rest of the state.
Additionally, 15 new roads have been constructed at a cost of ₹4 crore, while 11 roads have been paved. Under the annual maintenance plan, the 5-kilometre Bholad-Chhupadi road has also been upgraded with an investment of ₹1 crore.
Health and Infrastructure Projects Underway
In the healthcare sector, construction of a Primary Health Centre (PHC) at Bholad is progressing with an investment of ₹1.75 crore. The facility is expected to significantly improve healthcare accessibility for local residents.
Furthermore, a major bridge is being constructed over the Pabbar River at Chamshu at a cost of ₹5.55 crore. The bridge will benefit residents of both Jubbal and Rohru Assembly constituencies by improving connectivity.
Concluding his address, the minister reaffirmed his commitment to the overall development of the Jubbal-Nawar-Kotkhai constituency, stating that the Shurachali region will remain a priority for future development initiatives.
The event was attended by Youth Congress President Deepak Kalta, former Panchayat representatives of Ravi, senior Congress leaders, Sub-Divisional Officer Gurmeet Negi, BDO Jubbal Karan Singh, and officials from various government departments.
