CCTV Captures Robbery in Amritsar Travel Shop, ₹1.08 Lakh Looted by Three Armed Men

Amritsar: A shocking robbery incident has been reported from the Harinamdaspura area of the city, where three unidentified men looted ₹1.08 lakh in cash from a travel and tour office in a carefully planned operation. The entire incident was captured on CCTV footage.

According to information, the incident took place at West End Western Union Travel and Tours, where a young woman was alone at the counter. A man wearing a black shirt and covering his face with a cloth entered the shop and began asking about tickets. Shortly after, another man wearing a checked shirt and a mask entered and stood inside the shop.

Meanwhile, a third accomplice remained outside on an Activa scooter, keeping watch over the surroundings.

While the woman was speaking on her phone and unaware of the danger, the accused executed their plan. The man in the black shirt quietly moved behind her and signaled his accomplice. Within moments, he covered her mouth while cash was taken from the cash counter.

The entire robbery happened so quickly that the victim could not react, and all three accused fled the spot immediately after committing the crime.

Police Station No. 2 in-charge and ACP Ajay Singh reached the spot after receiving information and initiated an investigation. According to police, the incident occurred around 6:22 PM.

During the investigation, it was also revealed that the suspects had visited the shop earlier at around 3:30 PM to reconnoiter the location, both times wearing masks.

Police stated that after the initial recce, the accused left and later returned to execute the robbery. One suspect has reportedly been detained, and police are expected to hold a press conference soon to reveal further details.
