Himachal Pradesh BJP President Dr. Rajeev Bindal expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi after the Central Government approved a special financial assistance of ₹3,920 crore for the state under the “Pride of Hills: Special Development Assistance for Hill States (SASCI 2026–27)” scheme.
Dr. Bindal stated that the assistance is not merely a financial package but a reflection of Prime Minister Modi’s special concern and commitment toward Himachal Pradesh. He emphasized that hill states face unique developmental challenges due to difficult geography, limited resources, low population density, and restricted revenue sources, which the Central Government has acknowledged through this historic decision.
He informed that out of the total ₹25,000 crore special allocation announced by the Centre for hill states, Himachal Pradesh has been granted ₹3,920 crore, which he described as highly significant for the state’s growth.
According to Bindal, the funds will accelerate infrastructure development, including road construction, healthcare services, education, water supply systems, and other key development projects across the state.
The BJP leader also criticized the Congress-led state government, alleging that it has pushed Himachal Pradesh under a growing debt burden. In contrast, he said, the Central Government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership continues to strengthen the state economically through consistent financial support.
He added that the increasing debt situation in Himachal Pradesh remains a matter of concern, and the Centre’s assistance will provide much-needed relief during challenging financial times.
Dr. Bindal described the initiative as a true reflection of the government’s vision of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas,” stating that the scheme would prove to be a milestone for the holistic development of hill states.
He further noted that Prime Minister Modi has consistently prioritized Himachal Pradesh by providing economic assistance, special packages, and development schemes, demonstrating the Centre’s strong commitment to the state.
Concluding his statement, Bindal thanked the Prime Minister and the Central Government, expressing confidence that Himachal Pradesh will achieve new developmental milestones in the coming years, with this assistance laying the foundation for a brighter future.
