Himachal Governor Kavinder Gupta Meets PM Modi, Discusses Development and Welfare Initiatives

Himachal Governor Meets PM Modi Over State Development

Himachal Pradesh Governor Kavinder Gupta met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Tuesday in his first courtesy meeting after assuming office as the Governor of the state.

During the meeting, the Governor held detailed discussions with the Prime Minister on various issues related to Himachal Pradesh’s development and public welfare. He briefed the Prime Minister about key initiatives such as the “Drug-Free Himachal Campaign” and the “TB-Free Himachal Campaign,” which aim to improve public health and promote social well-being across the state.

Governor Gupta highlighted that Himachal Pradesh has emerged as a leading state in natural farming practices. He said efforts are being made to encourage farmers and horticulturists to adopt chemical-free agricultural methods, resulting in a growing number of cultivators shifting toward sustainable farming.

He emphasized the need to further expand and strengthen these initiatives so that the hill state can fully adopt zero-cost and environmentally friendly farming practices. According to him, such measures will ensure long-term environmental conservation while also increasing farmers’ income.

The Governor stressed that continuous support and guidance from the Central Government are essential to accelerate these developmental initiatives. He underlined the importance of coordinated efforts between the Centre and the state to ensure holistic development, public welfare, and sustainable growth in Himachal Pradesh.
