HRTC Volvo Driver Assault Case in Shimla Exposed

Shimla (Kameshwar Sharma): Shimla witnessed a shocking road rage incident during the busy tourism season as the HRTC Volvo Driver Assault Case in Shimla came to light in the Kachighati area.

According to reports, an HRTC Volvo bus traveling from Delhi to Shimla became the center of controversy after some people allegedly attacked the bus driver on the road. Consequently, the incident created panic among passengers and local residents.

Moreover, the clash disrupted traffic for some time and increased tension in the area.

Overtaking Dispute Triggered the Clash

Police officials said the HRTC Volvo bus was traveling towards Shimla from Delhi when the driver overtook an HR-registered Scorpio vehicle near Kachighati.

However, the people traveling in the Scorpio objected to the overtaking. Therefore, they stopped the bus and allegedly assaulted the driver in public.

As a result, passengers inside the bus panicked, while nearby residents gathered at the scene. Furthermore, the incident quickly attracted public attention because it happened during the peak tourist season.

Shimla Police Arrests Two Accused on the Spot

After receiving information about the incident, the team from Shimla Police and Baluganj Police Station immediately rushed to the spot.

Police officers quickly controlled the situation and arrested two accused at the scene. Authorities identified the accused as Pankaj Kumar and Vikas Kumar, both residents of Abhaypur village in Panchkula, Haryana.

Police officials confirmed that both accused directly participated in the assault.

Police Track Down Remaining Accused

During the investigation, police discovered that four people had participated in the HRTC Volvo Driver Assault Case in Shimla. Meanwhile, two accused escaped toward Theog after the incident.

Therefore, the Theog police team launched a search operation and detained both suspects. Later, officers handed them over to Baluganj Police Station for further legal action.

Police identified the remaining accused as Pratibha and Vicky Kumar, residents of Abhaypur village in Panchkula.

Police Register Serious Charges

Shimla Police registered a case against all four accused under serious sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

Furthermore, police officials warned that authorities will take strict legal action against anyone who disturbs law and order or attacks public service workers.

At present, police continue to investigate the case and examine additional evidence related to the incident.

The HRTC Volvo Driver Assault Case in Shimla has once again raised concerns about road rage incidents and passenger safety during the tourist season in Himachal Pradesh.
