Keylong (Kameshwar Sharma): Keylong witnessed major election preparations as the Lahaul Spiti Panchayat Elections Polling Parties Dispatched process began for the first phase of Panchayat Raj elections in the district.
The district administration sent polling parties from the district headquarters through buses to ensure smooth and peaceful voting in remote areas. Moreover, officials completed all necessary arrangements before dispatching the teams.
60 Polling Parties Deployed for First Phase
Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer (Panchayat) Kiran Bhadana informed that authorities dispatched a total of 60 polling parties.
These include 50 male polling parties and 10 female polling parties. Furthermore, the first phase of voting will take place on May 26 in several gram panchayats, including Trilokinath, Kardang, Darcha, Koksar, and Keylong.
In addition, authorities will conduct the second phase of polling on May 28 and the final phase on May 30 in different gram panchayats across the district.
Women Polling Teams to Manage Key Areas
Officials confirmed that five women polling parties will manage voting in the Trilokinath region. Meanwhile, the remaining five women teams will conduct polling duties in the Keylong area.
As a result, the administration aims to encourage better participation and ensure smooth election management in sensitive locations.
Police Personnel Deployed with Every Polling Party
The administration has also strengthened security arrangements for the elections. Therefore, authorities deployed two police personnel with each polling party to maintain law and order at polling stations.
Moreover, officials instructed security teams to ensure peaceful and fair voting throughout the election process.
The administration dispatched all polling teams in 11 buses to their assigned destinations.
367 Election Staff Appointed
The Lahaul Spiti Panchayat Elections Polling Parties Dispatched operation includes a large workforce. Officials appointed a total of 367 election staff members to conduct voting smoothly across 60 polling stations under 12 panchayats in Development Block Lahaul.
Furthermore, the administration appointed seven sector officers to support polling teams during the elections.
If any polling party faces difficulties, the concerned sector officer will immediately provide assistance and coordination support.
Administration Focuses on Peaceful Elections
Kiran Bhadana directed all officials and employees to conduct the elections in a fair, transparent, and peaceful manner.
Additionally, the district administration emphasized strict monitoring and coordination to avoid any disruptions during the three-phase election process.
