Three-Day Training Program Begins in Lahaul-Spiti for Census 2027 Preparations

Census 2027 Training Program Launched in Lahaul-Spiti

A three-day training programme aimed at ensuring the successful and systematic conduct of Census 2027 has been organized in Lahaul-Spiti district from March 27 to March 29, 2026. The programme was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner and Principal Census Officer Kiran Bhadana.

The training is being conducted to provide detailed knowledge about various aspects of census operations to officers and employees of the district administration and concerned departments. Officials from subdivision, tehsil, and field levels are participating to ensure effective implementation of census activities at the grassroots level.

Under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Kiran Bhadana, active participation of administrative officials has been ensured. Key participants include SDM and Sub-Divisional Census Officer Keylong Kunika Akers, SDM and Sub-Divisional Census Officer Udaipur Alisha Chauhan, SDM and Sub-Divisional Census Officer Pangi Amandeep Singh, District Informatics Officer (NIC) Sandeep Kumar, Tehsildar Keylong Vikas Kumar, Naib Tehsildar Sher Singh, along with other officials and staff members.

The training programme is being conducted under the guidance and expertise of the Census Department. Official trainers include Assistant Director Utkarsh Yadav, Statistical Investigator and DCO Nodal Officer Vikas Kumar, and Statistical Investigator Pratyush Singh.

In addition, Charge Census Officers, Kanungo office staff, charge clerks, and other field personnel are receiving training to ensure error-free data collection, verification, and reporting during the census process.

Special emphasis is being placed on technical aspects such as the use of digital platforms, data management systems, form-filling procedures, and public communication skills.

Addressing the participants, the Deputy Commissioner directed all officers and employees to carry out census duties with responsibility, transparency, and strict adherence to timelines. She emphasized that the census is a crucial administrative exercise that forms the foundation for policymaking and development planning, making accuracy and reliability essential.

Through practical and theoretical sessions conducted by official trainers, participants are being equipped to execute census operations efficiently in their respective areas. The district administration is working to ensure smooth and effective implementation of all phases of Census 2027 so that accurate and complete data of every citizen in the district can be recorded.
