Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has unveiled the four-year performance report of his government under the campaign “Shandar Char Saal Bhagwant Mann De Naal”. The report highlights employment generation, transparency, and digital governance as the administration’s key achievements.
In terms of employment, CM Mann revealed that 65,264 government jobs were created in the past four years, setting a historic record in Punjab. Recruitment was conducted strictly on merit across education, police, electricity, health, and local government sectors, eliminating any possibility of bribery or favoritism. This initiative has reportedly increased youth confidence in government jobs and reduced the trend of seeking employment abroad.
The government has also focused on digital governance, establishing 544 service centers serving nearly 30 lakh citizens monthly, and delivering over 8.2 crore digital services so far. Birth, death, and marriage certificates are now accessible via WhatsApp and SMS, reducing the need for in-person visits. The “Tuhade Dwaar” scheme further benefits senior citizens and differently-abled individuals by providing 437 services at home through a helpline.
On skill development, multi-skill centers in Amritsar, Bathinda, Hoshiarpur, Jalandhar, and Ludhiana have trained 1.25 lakh youth, with over 73,000 securing employment. Partnerships with Microsoft and IBM are helping youth acquire modern technology skills.
The government has also adopted a strict stance against corruption, acting on complaints received through the Action Line, registering hundreds of cases, and arresting several officials. CM Mann emphasized that corruption will not be tolerated.
Additionally, reforms in land and transport services—including Easy Registry and Faceless ARTIO services—are reducing middlemen and enabling citizens to complete official work from home.
