Keval Singh Pathania, MLA of Shahpur and Deputy Chief Whip, inaugurated an additional classroom built at a cost of ₹4 lakh at Government Primary School, Rait.
Addressing the gathering, he said the state government has implemented a cluster system in government schools to improve the quality of education. This initiative will ensure better utilization of resources such as laboratories, playgrounds, libraries, and other facilities, providing students with modern and advanced learning opportunities.
He further informed that development works worth approximately ₹25 crore are currently underway in Rait. He also highlighted that during the previous Congress government, development projects of similar value were carried out in the area.
The MLA also announced that the Chief Minister will soon lay the foundation stone of a day-boarding school building in Rait.
Speaking about student welfare, he mentioned the Bal Poshtik Aahar Yojana introduced for students from nursery to Class 8. Under this scheme, children are being provided eggs or local fruits once a week to improve their nutritional levels.
In an emotional moment, Pathania shared that he is proud to have studied in the same school and is now able to contribute to its development. He also recalled memories from his childhood.
During the event, he distributed school bags to the students of the primary school and presented ₹11,000 each as incentive support to local women’s groups, including Upper Rait Mahila Mandal, Ambedkar Mahila Mandal, Kamal Mahila Mandal, and Shakti Mahila Mandal, on behalf of Shahpur Welfare Society.
Earlier, the MLA also visited the Congress office in Rait, where he listened to public grievances. Many issues were resolved on the spot, while others were forwarded to concerned departments for prompt action.
The event witnessed the presence of several dignitaries, officials from various departments, school staff, parents, and local residents.
