Kullu (Kameshwar Sharma): A major Kullu Drug Smuggling Arrest took place after Jari police station team arrested two individuals with narcotic substances during a routine patrol in the Manikaran area.
On May 14, 2026, the police team was patrolling near the Malana company residential area when they noticed two suspicious individuals sitting beside the road.
Narcotics and Cash Recovered During Search
During the search operation, police recovered 19 grams of charas/cannabis, 156 grams of poppy husk, and ₹15,000 cash from the accused.
The arrested individuals were identified as Veer Singh, aged 32, son of Gurjant Singh, resident of village Jhaneedi, Sangrur (Punjab), and Gurcharan, aged 47, son of Vikram Singh, resident of village Karacho, Sangrur (Punjab).
Drug Smuggling Arrest: FIR Registered Under NDPS Act
After the recovery, police registered a case at Manikaran police station under Sections 15 and 20 of the NDPS Act.
Moreover, officials have launched a detailed investigation to determine the source of the narcotics and the intended supply chain.
