Shimla (Kameshwar Sharma): During an Intellectuals’ Conference in Shimla, JP Nadda on 12 Years of Modi Government highlighted the achievements of the Narendra Modi-led administration under the BJP’s “12 Years of Trust, Development and Public Welfare” campaign. The Union Minister said the government’s 12-year journey has created a golden chapter in India’s history and laid a strong foundation for a developed India.
Speaking on the occasion, Nadda said the government used the last twelve years to lay a strong foundation for a developed India. Instead, they represented a transformative period that laid a strong foundation for a developed India. Therefore, he described the period as a significant milestone in the nation’s progress.
Modi’s Leadership and Vision for Developed India
Nadda said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has served the nation continuously for 4,399 days as the country’s chief servant. According to him, this achievement reflects the trust, aspirations, and support of 1.4 billion Indians.
Furthermore, he recalled that after India completed 75 years of independence, Prime Minister Modi launched the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047. He emphasized that the government has already laid a strong foundation for achieving this goal during the last twelve years.
Shift from Old Politics to Good Governance
Discussing political changes since 2014, Nadda said that political parties once centered Indian politics around casteism, dynastic politics, appeasement, and corruption. However, he claimed that Prime Minister Modi transformed governance by promoting service, accountability, and transparency.
Moreover, he noted that citizens today feel empowered to speak against corruption because they trust that their concerns will be heard. As a result, public confidence in governance has increased significantly.
Historic Decisions Under Modi Government
Nadda highlighted several key decisions that he described as historic achievements of the Modi Government. These include the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, the abolition of triple talaq, and the implementation of the Citizenship Amendment Act.
According to him, these were long-standing commitments of the BJP and its workers. Therefore, he credited Prime Minister Modi for turning these promises into reality.
BJP’s Electoral Success and Public Support
JP Nadda on 12 Years of Modi Government success also pointed to the BJP’s continued electoral success. He said the party has emerged as the largest political force in all three Lok Sabha elections since 2014.
Additionally, he claimed that the BJP and NDA secured victories in 43 out of 75 major elections held in recent years. Today, he added, nearly 78 percent of India’s population lives in BJP- or NDA-governed states. Consequently, he described this as evidence of public confidence in the party’s policies.
Infrastructure Development Across India
Highlighting infrastructure achievements, Nadda stated that railway electrification has increased by 200 percent during the Modi Government’s tenure. He also noted that Himachal Pradesh has achieved complete railway electrification.
Meanwhile, national highways, tunnels, four-lane projects, and modern transportation networks have transformed connectivity across the country. He asserted that India is now building world-class infrastructure at an unprecedented pace.
Furthermore, he mentioned that more than 430,000 kilometers of rural roads have been constructed under the Prime Minister Gram Sadak Yojana. In Himachal Pradesh alone, over 14,400 kilometers of rural roads have been developed.
Welfare Schemes Improving Lives
Nadda highlighted the impact of major welfare schemes launched during the last twelve years. He said the Ujjwala Yojana has helped millions of women by providing clean cooking fuel. In Himachal Pradesh, nearly 150,000 families have received LPG connections.
Similarly, the Jal Jeevan Mission has expanded access to drinking water across the country. As a result, Himachal Pradesh has achieved universal household drinking water coverage.
Moreover, under the Swachh Bharat Mission, more than 120 million toilets have been constructed nationwide. Nadda stated that the initiative has improved sanitation while enhancing the dignity and safety of women.
Healthcare Expansion and Medical Infrastructure
Speaking about healthcare, Nadda noted that the number of medical colleges in India has grown from around 376 in 2014 to more than 820 today.
In Himachal Pradesh, new medical colleges have been established in Chamba, Hamirpur, and Nahan. Furthermore, he described the establishment of AIIMS Bilaspur as a landmark achievement for the state’s healthcare sector.
India’s Rise in Defense and Technology
JP Nadda on 12 Years of Modi Government also highlighted India’s progress in defense manufacturing and exports. He claimed that defense exports have increased by 5,700 percent, making India an emerging global supplier of defense equipment.
Additionally, he cited achievements such as BrahMos missile exports, Chandrayaan-3’s success, preparations for the Gaganyaan mission, semiconductor manufacturing, Digital India initiatives, Vande Bharat trains, and modern airport infrastructure.
According to him, these developments demonstrate India’s growing confidence and global influence.
India Moving Toward a Stronger Future
Concluding his address, Nadda said that India today is more confident, capable, and respected on the global stage. He emphasized that under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, the country is steadily advancing toward the goals of Amrit Kaal and Viksit Bharat.
Moreover, he stated that every BJP worker remains committed to realizing the vision of a developed India through dedication, service, and good governance.
