Jogindernagar (Kameshwar Sharma): A resident of Balkarupi village in Jogindernagar sub-division, Deep Kumar, is currently fighting a critical battle for his life after being diagnosed with complete kidney failure.
Around one and a half months ago, Deep Kumar’s health suddenly deteriorated. Initial medical tests at Dr. Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College, Tanda revealed that one of his kidneys had failed. However, his condition did not improve despite treatment, prompting doctors to refer him to PGIMER Chandigarh for further evaluation.
At PGIMER, doctors confirmed that both of his kidneys had completely failed and that he urgently requires a kidney transplant. This diagnosis has left his family devastated.
Earlier, Deep Kumar worked as a taxi driver to support his family, but he is now unable to work due to his illness. His family is facing severe financial hardship—his 65-year-old mother is unwell, his wife is a homemaker, and his 18-month-old son Aarav remains unaware of the crisis.
Currently, Deep Kumar is undergoing dialysis twice a week, which requires travel to Palampur. The ongoing medical expenses have become a heavy burden for the family. Doctors estimate that the kidney transplant procedure will cost around ₹10 lakh, which is beyond the family’s financial capacity.
In this difficult time, members of the Shanti Devi Foundation, including President Shravan Kumar, Vice President Jatin Latta, Geetanjali, Seema Walia, Vandana, Anju, and Bhinder Goswami, have extended financial assistance of ₹11,000 to support the family.
The family has made an emotional appeal to social organizations and the general public to come forward and help save Deep Kumar’s life so that he can get a new lease on life and overcome this critical situation.
