Shimla (Kameshwar Sharma): Himachal Pradesh National Law University (HPNLU), Shimla, successfully organized a special guest lecture on the topic “How to Achieve Perfection in the Legal Profession” under the leadership of Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Preeti Saxena.
The event featured Justice J.R. Midha, former Judge of the Delhi High Court and Professor of Practice at National Law University Delhi, as the chief speaker.
Organized by the Placement Assistance Cell, the lecture saw active participation from final-year students, LL.M. researchers, and members of the academic community.
In his address, Justice Midha emphasized that excellence in the legal profession requires logical reasoning, clarity of thought, effective advocacy, and strong command over language. He elaborated on the essential skills needed for legal professionals across various fields such as litigation, judiciary, and corporate practice.
He also highlighted the importance of continuous learning, precision in legal arguments, and the art of persuasion as the foundation of professional success. Sharing insights from his judicial experience, he provided practical guidance on courtroom functioning and the importance of a disciplined approach in legal practice.
The session concluded with an interactive dialogue, where students raised several questions and received detailed and insightful responses from Justice Midha.
