Illegal Animal Sheds Face Bulldozer Action in Amritsar, 7 Cattle Shifted to Gaushala

Amritsar MC Seizes 7 Cattle in Illegal Animal Sheds Crackdown

Amritsar (Suraj Kamlesh) – The Municipal Corporation Amritsar launched a special enforcement drive against illegal animal sheds operating in residential areas of the city. Acting on the directions of Municipal Commissioner Bikramjit Sher Gill, civic officials conducted the operation in Court Khalsa and New Model Town areas.

Two Illegal Animal Sheds Identified

During the drive, the corporation team identified two unauthorized animal sheds running inside residential localities. Officials removed the animals from the sites and seized a total of seven cattle. Authorities safely shifted all the animals to a gaushala as part of the action.

Officials stated that the campaign is part of the Municipal Corporation’s ongoing efforts to tackle the growing issue of stray and illegally kept cattle within city limits.

Residents Raised Concerns Over Sanitation and Traffic

The corporation intensified monitoring in residential areas after repeated complaints from local residents regarding sanitation problems, traffic obstruction, and safety concerns caused by unauthorized cattle sheds.

Officials said illegal cattle sheds often create unhygienic conditions and disturb smooth traffic movement in densely populated localities.

Officials and Punjab Police Assisted in Operation

The operation was conducted in the presence of Dr. Rama (MOH), J.P. Babbar (CSO), Sarabjit Singh, Anil Kumar, and Ravinder Kumar. Enforcement staff of the Municipal Corporation Amritsar and Punjab Police also supported the drive to ensure smooth execution of the operation.

Commissioner Warns of Continued Action

Municipal Commissioner Bikramjit Singh Shergill said the civic body remains fully committed to maintaining cleanliness, public hygiene, road safety, and organized urban living across the city.

He warned that the Municipal Corporation will continue similar drives in different parts of Amritsar to remove illegal cattle sheds and stray animals from residential zones.
