Legal expert Nishant Nigam from Goswami & Nigam, New Delhi, discussed the protection of trademarks, patents, designs, and copyrights in sports, with special emphasis on endorsement rights of athletes and commercial branding issues.
Prof. (Dr.) Lisa P. Lukose from Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi, highlighted how media, branding, and digital platforms contribute to sports revenue generation, while also addressing challenges such as ambush marketing, online promotion strategies, and digital piracy.
Adding a creative dimension, Prof. (Dr.) Raman Mittal from Campus Law Centre, University of Delhi, spoke on “Trademark Licensing” as a vital link between intellectual property and contract law. His session was uniquely presented through two original poems titled “The Promise” and “License,” which engaged participants in a distinctive way.
The session concluded with an interactive discussion where participants raised queries on licensing frameworks, drafting practices, and emerging trends in intellectual property law.
The event was coordinated by Dr. Santosh Kumar Sharma, Director of CAIPR, along with student members, whose collective efforts ensured the successful execution of the academic initiative.
