Amritsar (Rajesh Sandhu): The Guru Amar Das Ji Parkash Purab was observed with deep devotion and religious fervor at Gurdwara Sri Manji Sahib, where the bhog of Sri Akhand Path Sahib was performed in the Diwan Hall.
The sacred occasion of Guru Amar Das Ji Parkash Purab witnessed the participation of a large number of devotees who gathered to pay their respects to the third Sikh Guru, Guru Amar Das. The spiritual atmosphere was enriched with soulful Gurbani Kirtan performed by Hazoori Ragi Bhai Sukhpreet Singh from Sri Harmandir Sahib, Amritsar.
The Ardas was performed by Bhai Sarwan Singh, while the holy Hukamnama was recited by Granthi Singh Sahib Giani Parvinderpal Singh. Addressing the sangat, Giani Parvinderpal Singh shared inspiring insights into the life and teachings of Guru Amar Das Ji.
He emphasized that the humble service rendered by Guru Amar Das Ji in the Guru’s court continues to serve as a guiding light for Sikhs across the world. Highlighting the relevance of Guru Amar Das Ji Parkash Purab, he said that the Guru strengthened the tradition of Langar and promoted the principle of “Pehle Pangat Phir Sangat,” which played a vital role in eliminating caste-based discrimination.
He further urged the youth to draw inspiration from Sikh history and adopt the values of “Bani and Bana” in their daily lives, reinforcing the teachings of Guru Amar Das Ji.
On the same occasion, tribute was also paid to the great Sikh warrior Hari Singh Nalwa on his martyrdom day. The bhog of Sri Akhand Path Sahib was also performed in his memory at the same venue.
Katha Vachak Bhai Harmittar Singh narrated the life history of Hari Singh Nalwa and highlighted his immense contribution to the establishment and expansion of the Sikh Empire. He प्रेरित the sangat to take inspiration from his bravery, leadership, and dedication.
The dual observance of Guru Amar Das Ji Parkash Purab and the martyrdom anniversary of Hari Singh Nalwa made the event spiritually uplifting as well as historically significant.
Prominent members of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) were present during the event. These included Secretary Balwinder Singh Kahlo, General Manager of Sri Darbar Sahib Major Singh, in-charge Jagjit Singh, Baldev Singh, Shivraj Singh, Additional Manager Iqbal Singh Mukhi, Bikramjit Singh Jhangi, Yuvraj Singh, Jasbir Singh, Gurtinderpal Singh Qadian, and Assistant Manager Ajay Singh, among others.
