Delhi-NCR: With temperatures continuing to rise sharply across the region, the district administration in Ghaziabad has taken a significant step to protect school children from extreme heat conditions.
Acting on the directions of the District Magistrate, authorities have revised school timings for all institutions from nursery to Class 8. According to an official order issued by Basic Shiksha Adhikari O.P. Yadav, schools across the district will now operate from 7:30 AM to 12:30 PM.
The new schedule will come into effect from April 27, 2026, and will remain in force until further orders. The move aims to ensure that young students are not exposed to the intense afternoon heat and heatwave conditions, which have been intensifying in recent days.
Officials emphasized that the decision has been taken keeping in mind the safety and well-being of children, as prolonged exposure to high temperatures can pose serious health risks.
The administration has urged schools to strictly adhere to the revised timings and ensure necessary precautions to safeguard students during the ongoing heatwave.
