Dharamshala (Kameshwar Sharma): A swift rescue operation was launched after a paragliding accident was reported in the Guran Dhar area of Baijnath sub-division in Himachal Pradesh.
Deputy Commissioner Hemraj Bairwa informed that due to the extremely difficult and inaccessible mountainous terrain, with no road connectivity, immediate helicopter assistance was requested by the administration. Acting promptly, an Air Force helicopter carried out a successful rescue operation.
According to officials, Arun Singh, a paragliding pilot from Rajasthan, sustained serious injuries in the accident, while another pilot, Ranjan Gupta, got stuck in a tree. Both were rescued safely through a coordinated effort involving the Air Force, local rescue teams, and police.
After the rescue, both individuals were admitted to Vivekananda Hospital in Palampur, where they are currently undergoing treatment.
The Deputy Commissioner stated that the accident site was located in a highly risky and remote area, where reaching on foot could have taken several hours. In such circumstances, helicopter rescue proved to be the most effective option.
The operation was successfully completed through coordinated efforts of the administration, police, and Air Force teams.
