Neurosurgeon Dr. Somil Kansal from Apex Hospital, located on Batala Road, has highlighted the importance of recognizing early symptoms of brain tumors, stating that signs may vary depending on the tumor’s size, location, and growth rate.
According to Dr. Kansal, some individuals may develop brain tumors without experiencing noticeable symptoms in the early stages, making awareness and timely diagnosis extremely important.
He explained that common warning signs include frequent headaches, headaches that gradually worsen over time, unexplained vomiting, nausea, and vision-related problems. Patients may also experience blurred vision, double vision, reduced distant vision, and a gradual loss of movement or sensation in the hands and legs. Loss of balance is another significant symptom that should not be ignored.
Dr. Kansal further stated that the risk of brain tumors increases with age. While the condition is more commonly observed among elderly individuals, it can occur at any age group.
He advised that anyone experiencing these symptoms should immediately consult a neurosurgeon to ensure early detection and treatment, which can significantly improve outcomes and help prevent serious complications.
