Jalandhar: The BJP Punjab Alliance Decision regarding a possible partnership with the Shiromani Akali Dal or any other Akali faction remains open for the future. Punjab BJP president Nitin Nabin stated that the party will take a final call only when the political situation becomes clearer.
Speaking during a media conclave in Jalandhar during his recent Punjab visit, Nabin responded to questions about a potential alliance. He emphasized that certain political matters depend on timing and circumstances.
According to Nabin, the BJP is currently concentrating on expanding its organizational strength across Punjab rather than discussing alliance arrangements.
BJP Focuses on Strengthening Its Organization
Nabin stated that the BJP aims to strengthen its organization in every Assembly constituency before considering alliance options.
Furthermore, he explained that BJP workers are actively working at the grassroots level to strengthen the party’s structure. As a result, organizational growth remains the party’s primary objective at this stage.
He added that the BJP wants to establish itself firmly across Punjab before evaluating any future political options.
No Immediate Decision on Alliance
Nabin made it clear that the BJP has not taken a position either for or against an alliance. Instead, the party intends to review the political landscape as elections draw closer.
Moreover, he said the party will take alliance decisions only after assessing the overall political situation. Such decisions depend on public sentiment, political developments, and electoral realities.
Therefore, the BJP will continue monitoring the situation before making any commitment regarding future partnerships.
Party to Review Situation Before Elections
Discussing the BJP Punjab Alliance Decision, Nabin said the party will conduct a fresh assessment as the election process advances.
According to him, BJP leaders will carefully evaluate the political environment and feedback received from voters. Subsequently, the party will determine whether an alliance serves its political interests.
He also noted that public opinion will play a significant role in shaping future strategies.
Decision Will Depend on Time and Circumstances
Nabin reiterated that political alliances often depend on changing circumstances. Consequently, the BJP does not want to rush into any decision.
Instead, the party plans to focus on strengthening its electoral footprint over the coming months. After reviewing ground realities and voter response, BJP leaders will decide the next course of action.
Additionally, he indicated that the party could revisit the issue closer to the elections when a clearer picture emerges.
BJP Concentrating on Grassroots Expansion
At present, the BJP leadership believes that expanding its reach across Assembly constituencies is more important than alliance discussions.
Therefore, party workers have been instructed to focus on grassroots engagement and organizational development. Nabin stressed that building a strong foundation will help the party perform better in future elections.
The BJP Punjab Alliance Decision remains undecided for now. However, Nabin’s remarks indicate that the party will review all options once it completes its organizational assessment and gains a clearer understanding of voter sentiment across Punjab.
