Acting Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargaj, inaugurated a newly constructed Gurdwara Sahib building in Bathuni village of Rajouri district during his visit to Jammu.
The Gurdwara has been built by the local Sikh community as a memorial dedicated to Bhai Makhan Shah Lubana, a prominent historical Sikh figure. On this occasion, the management committee of Gurdwara Yadgar Bhai Makhan Shah Lubana Ji, along with the Sikh Youth Sabha Jammu & Kashmir, jointly organized a large Gurmat Samagam, which witnessed enthusiastic participation from Sikh devotees across the region.
During the religious gathering, the Hazoori Raagi Jatha led by Bhai Shaukeen Singh from Sachkhand Sri Darbar Sahib performed soulful kirtan, spiritually connecting the congregation with Gurbani.
Upon his arrival in Bathuni village on Sunday night, Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargaj received a warm welcome from the Sikh Sangat amid religious slogans and celebrations. Addressing the gathering, he highlighted the significant Sikh population in the region and recalled the sacrifices made during the 1947–48 tribal attacks, when hundreds of Sikhs attained martyrdom while defending their land and faith.
The Jathedar encouraged the Sikh community to live in unity and harmony, emphasizing the spirit of Chardi Kala (eternal optimism). He said the Khalsa prays for divine protection wherever Sikhs reside around the world, stressing that despite living in different countries, Sikhs remain one global family.
He further urged members of the community to stand together and support one another, reinforcing the values of unity, faith, and collective strength.
