Dharamshala (Kameshwar Sharma): In order to accelerate the implementation of various development projects in Kangra district, the district administration held a District Level Coordination Committee meeting under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Hemraj Bairwa on April 24 in the conference hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s office, Dharamshala.
The meeting focused on reviewing the progress of forest clearances and other necessary approvals under the Forest Conservation Act (FCA) related to multiple development projects across departments.
The Deputy Commissioner directed officials to prioritize the resolution of FCA-related pending cases that are creating hurdles in development works, ensuring that public welfare projects are executed in a time-bound manner on the ground.
He emphasized that strong inter-departmental coordination is essential to speed up development activities. The District Level Coordination Committee has been formed with the objective of strengthening communication and coordination between departments, enabling faster resolution of forest clearance, inter-departmental issues, and other procedural delays.
During the meeting, department-wise pending cases were reviewed in detail, including the status of clearances, reasons for delays, objections raised, and steps taken for their resolution. The Deputy Commissioner instructed officials to adopt a time-bound action plan for disposing of objections and ensure that cases are not kept pending unnecessarily.
He further stated that the administration is working to simplify and streamline processes to ensure timely completion of development projects within the stipulated timeframe.
Earlier, DFO Headquarters Rahul Sharma welcomed the Deputy Commissioner and provided a detailed presentation on pending and ongoing FCA-related cases. Officials from PWD, Jal Shakti Department, Education, Police, Tourism, Industry, and other departments were present in the meeting.
