Amritsar: The district administration, under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Dalwinderjit Singh, celebrated the 135th birth anniversary of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar at the District Administrative Complex with great enthusiasm.
Senior officials, including Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Rohit Gupta, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rural Development) Paramjit Kaur, SDMs Alka Kalia, Gurmandar Singh, Khushpreet Singh, and District Social Justice Officer Pallav Shrestha, along with other district officers, paid floral tributes to Dr. Ambedkar’s portrait.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Dalwinderjit Singh urged residents to follow Dr. Ambedkar’s ideology to build an equal and progressive society. He stated that paying true tribute to Baba Saheb means working towards social equality and justice.
Highlighting Dr. Ambedkar’s immense contribution, he said that the architect of the Indian Constitution dedicated his entire life to equality, fraternity, and the upliftment of marginalized communities. His vision of social and political equality remains highly relevant even today.
The Deputy Commissioner described Dr. Ambedkar as a global icon and appealed to citizens to draw inspiration from his life and work towards building an inclusive and just society. He further assured that the Amritsar district administration will continue efforts to realize Dr. Ambedkar’s vision of social upliftment and empowerment of weaker sections.
