Young Woman Found Dead in Abohar PG Room, Police Launch Investigation

Abohar PG Suicide Case Woman Found Dead, Probe On

A shocking incident has come to light from Abohar, where a young woman allegedly died by suicide after hanging herself inside a room at a paying guest (PG) accommodation located behind the bus stand.

The deceased has been identified as Geeta, a resident of Arniwala in Fazilka district. According to reports, she had been living in the Aneja PG for nearly one year but had shifted to another room in the same PG about a week ago.

PG owner Meenu Aneja stated that Geeta was pursuing a beauty parlour course in Abohar and was also working alongside her studies. Late at night around 1 AM, a young man known to the girl arrived at the PG and started knocking at the door, informing them that something had happened to Geeta.

When the PG staff reached the room, they found the door locked from inside. Through a nearby window, they saw Geeta hanging. The young man later entered the room, brought her down, and rushed her to the government hospital.

Station House Officer (SHO) of City Police Station-1, Maninder Singh, said that police reached the spot after receiving information and initiated an investigation. Preliminary inquiry revealed that Geeta was reportedly in a relationship with Ravi, son of Jagdish Lal, a resident of Balaji Colony in Abohar.

Police have registered a case and launched raids to locate the accused. Further investigation is currently underway to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the incident.
