Sahil Chad Wins Khelo India Bronze, Meets Deputy CM

Wrestler Chaudhary Sahil Chad from Beetan village in the Haroli Assembly constituency met Himachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri at his residence in Gondpur Jaichand on Sunday during a courtesy visit.

Sahil Chad recently brought pride to Himachal Pradesh by winning a bronze medal in wrestling at the Khelo India Tribal Games 2026 held in Chhattisgarh. Congratulating the young athlete on his achievement, the Deputy Chief Minister praised his dedication and wished him a bright future in sports.

Mukesh Agnihotri said that young athletes from the state are consistently delivering strong performances at national-level competitions, helping Himachal Pradesh gain new recognition across the country. He added that such achievements serve as an inspiration for other youth to pursue sports with commitment and discipline.

Notably, Sahil Chad has earlier participated in a national-level competition held in Palwal, Uttar Pradesh. He has also secured a silver medal in an Inter-University wrestling competition, further highlighting his growing success in the sport.

The meeting reflected the state government’s encouragement and support for emerging sportspersons representing Himachal Pradesh at national platforms.
