Shimla (Kameshwar Sharma): The Shimla Police Bust Two Major Interstate Drug Networks operation has achieved a major breakthrough in the fight against narcotics trafficking in Himachal Pradesh.
Under its large anti-drug campaign, Shimla Police uncovered two interstate Chitta smuggling networks and arrested key suppliers from Chandigarh and Amritsar.
Police officials said the investigation relied on digital evidence, financial transactions, and backward link analysis to trace the main suppliers operating across states.
Dhalli Police Arrest Two Accused With Chitta
Shimla Police registered FIR number 36/2026 at Dhalli Police Station on May 13, 2026, under Sections 21 and 29 of the NDPS Act.
During the operation, police arrested Nikhil Thakur, a resident of Ridka in Chaura Maidan, Shimla, and Sulabh Thapa from Tutikandi, Shimla.
Police recovered nearly 11 grams of Chitta, also known as heroin, from their possession.
Chandigarh Supplier Arrested After Digital Investigation
During further investigation, police teams worked on backward linkages and questioned the accused in detail.
Investigators also examined digital records and banking transactions. Consequently, police identified Chandigarh resident Akash as the main supplier of the drug consignment.
Following the evidence trail, the Dhalli Police team arrested Akash from Ram Darbar Industrial Area in Chandigarh on May 15, 2026.

Ramour NDPS Case Leads Police to Amritsar
Similarly, Rampur Police Station registered FIR number 32/2026 under Sections 21 and 29 of the NDPS Act on May 9, 2026.
Police arrested Rohit Chauhan from Shahdhar Rampur, Tushar Verma from Bounda Rampur, and Praveen Kumar from Bilaspur in the case.
