Shimla district police have achieved another major breakthrough in an ongoing drug trafficking investigation registered under FIR No. 80/2025 at Rampur Police Station.
During detailed investigation, technical analysis, and financial transaction tracking, police established backward links in the network and arrested accused Karan (34) from Ambala, Haryana, on April 13, 2026.
According to officials, the accused was in direct contact with co-accused individuals and evidence of financial transactions worth around ₹10 lakh has been recovered. He was actively involved in funding, coordination, and facilitating transactions within the drug network, leading to his implication under Section 29 of the NDPS Act (criminal conspiracy).
Earlier, on August 22, 2025, police had arrested Prashant Negi, Avinash Thakur, and Devan Joshi with 17.150 grams of heroin (“chitta”), which marked the beginning of uncovering the wider network. Subsequent investigations led to the arrest of Rajdeep, Krishna Kumar, Ivan, Himanshu Negi, and Parvinder Negi from Kinnaur and Rampur regions.
Investigations further revealed that accused Karan has multiple prior cases registered under the NDPS Act, including cases in Panchkula and Chandimandir police stations, indicating his long-standing involvement in drug-related activities.
Following his arrest, the accused was produced before the court and has been sent to police remand until April 16, 2026.
So far, a total of nine accused have been arrested in this case. Police stated that efforts are ongoing to dismantle the entire drug trafficking network, and strict legal action will be taken against all individuals involved.
