Shimla Chitta Drug Bust Arrest Youth Held with Heroin

Shimla (Kameshwar Sharma): The Shimla Chitta Drug Bust Arrest marks another major breakthrough in the ongoing anti-narcotics drive by Shimla Police. In a swift and intelligence-led operation, police from Thiyog Police Station arrested a 24-year-old man with a quantity of illegal drugs during routine patrolling activity on Rai Ghat Bypass Road.

The operation took place when the police team was conducting regular surveillance and checking in the area. Acting on confidential information, officers intercepted a suspicious individual and carried out a detailed search. The operation highlights the increasing vigilance under the Shimla Chitta Drug Bust Arrest campaign, aimed at curbing drug trafficking in the region.

During interrogation, the accused identified himself as Pritish, son of Sanjeev, resident of village Gujandli, Tehsil Tikkar, District Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, aged 24 years. A thorough search led to the recovery of 7.230 grams of chitta (heroin) from his possession.

Following the recovery, police immediately took action and arrested the accused on the spot. A case has been formally registered under FIR No. 56/2026 dated 28.04.2026 under Section 21 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Thiyog.

Authorities confirmed that the accused has been presented before the Hon’ble court, and further legal proceedings are underway. The Shimla Chitta Drug Bust Arrest case is now under detailed investigation to trace possible supply chains and broader drug networks connected to the accused.

Shimla Police stated that this operation is part of a sustained crackdown on narcotics trafficking in the district. Regular patrolling, intelligence gathering, and surprise checks are being intensified to ensure strict action against drug peddlers.

Officials further emphasized that the Shimla Chitta Drug Bust Arrest reflects their commitment to making the region drug-free. Efforts are being made to identify both suppliers and consumers involved in the illegal drug trade, ensuring strict legal action under the NDPS Act.

The police have also appealed to the public to cooperate in the fight against drugs by sharing any suspicious information. Community participation, they said, is essential in strengthening the anti-drug campaign.

This latest arrest adds to a series of successful operations conducted by Shimla Police in recent months, reinforcing their zero-tolerance policy against narcotics.
