The Punjab Government has officially started registration for the “Chief Minister Maan-Dhiyan Satkar Yojana,” a welfare scheme aimed at providing financial support to women across the state.
Cabinet Minister Dr Baljit Kaur formally launched the registration process in Malout constituency, highlighting the importance of empowering women, including mothers, sisters, and young daughters. She extended her best wishes to beneficiaries and encouraged maximum participation.
The registration process began on April 14, following its official launch by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann in Jalandhar. During the event, certificates were distributed to beneficiaries including Diksha Kaur, Simran, Amarjeet Kaur, Harbans Kaur, and Nisha.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister urged women to actively participate in politics, stating that if households cannot function without women, the country cannot progress without their involvement. He emphasized the importance of education and empowerment for women.
The scheme will initially be rolled out as a pilot project from April 15 in nine विधानसभा constituencies, including Adampur, Malout, Sri Anandpur Sahib, Dirba, Sunam, Moga, Kotkapura, Batala, and Patiala Rural. From May 15, registration will be extended to the remaining 108 constituencies across Punjab.
Under the scheme, general category women will receive ₹1,000 per month, while Scheduled Caste women will be given ₹1,500 per month. The benefits are expected to start from July 1, 2026.
The state government has allocated a budget of ₹9,300 crore for the scheme. Funds will be directly transferred to beneficiaries’ bank accounts through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
To be eligible, women must be above 18 years of age and possess a valid Punjab voter ID and Aadhaar card. Applicants will also need to provide their mobile number, bank account details, and other necessary documents. Registration is available at Seva Kendras and Anganwadi centres across districts, and the process is completely free of cost.
