Punjab Minister Distributes ₹3 Crore Grants in Amritsar

Jandiala Guru– Punjab Public Works Minister and Jandiala Guru MLA Harbhajan Singh ETO distributed grant approval letters worth ₹3 crore to residents under various government schemes in the constituency.

Under the “Rangla Punjab” scheme, grants worth approximately ₹2.30 crore were allocated to 39 villages in the Jandiala Guru area. Additionally, ₹40.50 lakh was distributed to 15 villages under discretionary grants, while nearly ₹20 lakh was sanctioned for the Municipal Council of Jandiala Guru.

On the occasion, the minister also handed over approval letters to 107 beneficiaries under the “Mera Ghar, Mere Naam” scheme. Furthermore, 386 beneficiaries from around 65 villages received approvals for housing grants aimed at upgrading kutcha houses.

In a major welfare push, a total of 24,638 DFSC ration cards were also issued during the event.

Addressing a large public gathering, Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO stated that the Punjab government is committed to the welfare of every section of society and is continuously working in that direction. He emphasized that these grants will significantly improve the living standards of beneficiaries by providing financial support.

Highlighting the “Mera Ghar, Mere Naam” scheme, he said it aims to provide legal ownership rights to residents living within the ‘Lal Lakir’ (village habitation areas). He explained that earlier, people lived in houses without legal ownership documents, but now the government is conducting surveys and mapping to grant ownership rights.

The scheme is being implemented across nearly 12,700 villages in Punjab, marking a major reform for rural residents. With legal ownership, beneficiaries will also be able to avail bank loans, boosting economic growth and rural development.

The minister reiterated that the Bhagwant Mann-led Punjab government aims to ensure that the benefits of all welfare schemes reach every eligible individual and urged people to take maximum advantage of these initiatives.
