Amritsar: Punjab Public Works Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO today flagged off a bus carrying pilgrims under the “Chief Minister Teerth Yatra Scheme” from village Makkhanwindi in the Jandiala Guru constituency.
Speaking on the occasion, the minister said that this is not just a routine journey, but a sacred initiative connected with the faith, devotion, and spiritual peace of the elderly. He added that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the Punjab Government has launched this scheme to provide senior citizens an opportunity to visit various religious pilgrimage sites.
Harbhajan Singh ETO emphasized that such welfare schemes help strengthen social and cultural values while promoting respect for elders in society. He expressed hope that the journey would be safe, comfortable, and spiritually fulfilling for all the participants.
On the occasion, prayers were offered for the well-being of the pilgrims, wishing them a peaceful and blessed journey.
Villagers and administrative officials also extended their best wishes to the pilgrims. Proper arrangements were made to ensure a smooth and well-organized journey.
