Chandigarh: The registration for Punjab’s “Maavan Dhiyaan Satkar Yojana” will begin from April 15, officials confirmed. Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann will formally launch the scheme during a rally in Adampur on April 14.
The scheme was earlier scheduled to be launched on April 13 but was postponed due to a special session of the Punjab Legislative Assembly.
Phased Implementation
In the first phase, the scheme will be implemented in seven districts — Muktsar, Rupnagar, Patiala, Sangrur, Moga, Jalandhar, and Faridkot. Additionally, nine assembly constituencies have been selected for the initial rollout, including Malout, Sri Anandpur Sahib, Sunam, Batala, Moga, Patiala Rural, Adampur, Dirba, and Kotkapura.
Financial Assistance to Women
Under the scheme, women above 18 years of age from the general category will receive ₹1,000 per month, while women belonging to Scheduled Caste categories will receive ₹1,500 per month as financial assistance.
The scheme was announced in the state budget presented on March 8.
Registration Process
Eligible women will be required to register at Anganwadi centers and Seva Kendras. The registration process will be completely free of cost.
Applicants must provide Aadhaar cards and Punjab voter ID cards for verification.
Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT)
The financial assistance will be transferred directly into beneficiaries’ Aadhaar-linked bank accounts through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system, ensuring transparency and efficiency.
