Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, along with Aam Aadmi Party convenor Arvind Kejriwal, senior leader Manish Sisodia, Punjab Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh, and party leadership, formally inaugurated 109 Aam Aadmi Clinics across the state during a state-level event aimed at strengthening primary healthcare services.
Following the statewide launch, seven new Aam Aadmi Clinics were inaugurated at different locations in Amritsar district. During the district-level ceremony, Punjab Health System Corporation Chairman Gursharan Singh Chhina inaugurated an Aam Aadmi Clinic at Rani Ka Bagh and dedicated it to the public.
Speaking on the occasion, Chhina stated that Aam Aadmi Clinics are providing 107 types of medicines and 47 diagnostic tests free of cost to residents. He added that more than 4.97 crore patients have received treatment through these clinics so far, while over 2.72 crore free medical tests have been conducted.
He further highlighted that the Punjab Government has launched the Chief Minister Health Insurance Scheme, under which nearly 65 lakh families will receive cashless medical treatment worth up to ₹10 lakh annually. The scheme will cover both government and empanelled private hospitals, proving especially beneficial for economically weaker sections.
Civil Surgeon Dr. Satinderjit Singh Bajaj said the clinics are delivering quality healthcare facilities near people’s homes, ensuring free tests and medicines while reducing the burden on major hospitals. He urged residents to make maximum use of these healthcare services for timely treatment.
