Chandigarh: In a significant administrative reshuffle, the Punjab and Haryana High Court has issued transfer and promotion orders for 38 judicial officers across Punjab.
The large-scale reshuffle includes key postings in district courts, special courts, and tribunals aimed at strengthening the judicial system and improving case disposal efficiency.
Among the major transfers, Nirbhav Singh Gill has been posted from Jalandhar to Fatehgarh Sahib, Jatinder Pal Singh Khurmi from Pathankot to Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, and Arun Gupta has been shifted from Fatehgarh Sahib to the newly created Malerkotla Sessions Division. Priya Sood has been transferred from SBS Nagar to Jalandhar, while Rajneesh Garg has been brought back from Chandigarh Tribunal and posted to Pathankot.
In promotions, Jaswinder Shimer has been elevated from Hoshiarpur and appointed as District and Sessions Judge of Sri Muktsar Sahib. Surinder Pal Kaur has been transferred from Bathinda to Chandigarh as Presiding Officer of the State Transport Appellate Tribunal, while Sanjay Agnihotri has been appointed District and Sessions Judge of Faridkot from Kapurthala.
At the ADJ level, several major changes have also been made. Harinder Sidhu has been deputed from Patiala to Chandigarh. Tarn Taran Singh Bindra has been posted from Fazilka to Rupnagar in a special court handling POCSO and rape cases. Jaswinder Singh-1 has been appointed to the newly established Special NRI Court in Jalandhar.
Other officers including Gurmohan Singh, Avtar Singh Barda, Balwinder Kumar-2, and Ravi Inder Kaur Sandhu have also been transferred to various positions across the state.
Strengthening special courts, the High Court has also established dedicated NRI courts in multiple districts. Rashmi Kapila has been posted to Kapurthala, Mandeep Mittal to Hoshiarpur, and Hardeep Singh to SAS Nagar (Mohali). Additionally, a Special NIA Court has been set up in Mohali as part of the restructuring exercise.
Further transfers include Ashish Abrol to Ludhiana Fast Track Court for rape cases, Gurpreet Singh to Sangrur, Amandeep Kaur to Patiala, Mohit Bansal to Gurdaspur, and Amita Singh to Family Court in Jalandhar.
A large number of other judicial officers, including Hargurjit Kaur, Raman Goklani, Harsimranjit Singh, Vineet Narang, Ravi Gulati, Mahesh Grover, Sushma Devi, Sumit Bhalla, Atul Kamboj, Parminder Kaur, Navdeep Kaur Gill, and Radhika Puri, have also been transferred as part of the statewide judicial restructuring.
