Laddpalma village in the Bhoa Assembly constituency witnessed a wave of joy and excitement as the Punjab government organized a special event to distribute smart ration cards to beneficiaries.
Punjab Cabinet Minister Lal Chand Kataruchak attended the event as the chief guest and personally handed over the cards to the residents. The ceremony brought visible hope and relief among the people. Beneficiaries hailed this initiative as a significant step toward a more efficient and transparent ration distribution system.
Addressing the gathering, Minister Lal Chand Kataruchak said the Punjab government is continually introducing measures to make public services more accessible. He highlighted that with the new smart ration card system, residents no longer need to carry heavy old ration cards or Aadhaar cards.
The new smart cards feature QR codes, which can be scanned for accurate and transparent distribution of ration supplies, reducing the chances of errors and fraud.
The minister further mentioned that under this scheme, over 40.28 lakh families, totaling approximately 1.52 crore beneficiaries across Punjab, are already benefiting from the ration distribution system. The introduction of smart cards will further streamline the process and ensure seamless service.
Concluding the event, Lal Chand Kataruchak urged residents to take full advantage of government welfare schemes to improve their quality of life. This event not only marked the distribution of cards but also strengthened public trust in technology-driven government initiatives.
