Amritsar (Dawarka Nath Rana): Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria distributed laptops to six meritorious youths under an initiative by the Indian Red Cross Society at Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar.
The distribution ceremony was held at the university’s guest house, where the Governor emphasized the growing importance of information technology in today’s world. He stated that computer education has become essential for every young individual, as it plays a crucial role in securing employment opportunities.
Highlighting the importance of emerging technologies, he said that the present era is driven by artificial intelligence (AI), and youth must equip themselves with modern skills to stay relevant and competitive.
He encouraged students to remain dedicated to their studies, work hard, and strive to contribute meaningfully to the development of the state and the nation.
The beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the Governor and the Indian Red Cross Society for the support. Deputy Commissioner Dalwinderjit Singh, along with Hemraj “Bunty” Jain, Arun Jain, and other dignitaries, were also present on the occasion.
