President of India Droupadi Murmu is scheduled to undertake a six-day official visit to Himachal Pradesh from April 27 to May 2, covering key locations including Shimla, Atal Tunnel (Rohtang), and Palampur, according to a draft itinerary released by the President’s Secretariat.

As per the schedule, the President will depart from Rashtrapati Bhavan on April 27 and travel via Palam Airport to Chandigarh. From there, she will fly in an Indian Air Force Mi-17 helicopter to Kalyani Helipad at Rashtrapati Niwas, Mashobra, where she will stay during her Shimla visit.

April 28 has been kept largely reserved, with proposed inaugurations and official engagements yet to be finalized.

On April 29, President Murmu is scheduled to visit the Atal Tunnel area. The programme includes travel to Sissu Helipad followed by a road journey to the North Portal of the tunnel. She will be briefed by officials from the Border Roads Organisation (BRO), visit the ingress tunnel, and proceed to the South Portal for a presentation and interaction. The visit will conclude with high tea before returning to Mashobra.

On April 30, the President will travel to Palampur to attend the 17th Convocation of CSK Himachal Pradesh Agricultural University as the Chief Guest. She is expected to return to Shimla later that day and visit the Army Training Command in the evening.

May 1 has been reserved for official engagements, including an ‘At Home’ function and meetings. On May 2, the President will depart from Mashobra, fly back to Chandigarh by helicopter, and then return to Delhi.

Officials noted that the itinerary is tentative, with some programmes still marked as “reserved” or “to be confirmed.”
