PM Modi Urges MPs to Support Women’s Reservation Bill Ahead of Lok Sabha Voting

PM Modi Urges Support for Women Reservation Bill

New Delhi: As the debate on the Women’s Reservation Bill continues in Parliament, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has appealed to all political parties to support the legislation during voting in the Lok Sabha.

The Nari Shakti Vandan Act, which was introduced a day earlier, is set for voting at 4 PM on Friday. Ahead of the crucial vote, PM Modi took to social media platform X to urge Members of Parliament to take a thoughtful and sensitive decision in favor of women’s reservation.

In his message, the Prime Minister highlighted that millions of women across the country are closely watching the decisions of lawmakers. He stressed that this is a historic opportunity to ensure equal representation for women in the democratic process.

Modi noted that the issue of women’s reservation has been politicized for decades and emphasized that it is time to grant rightful representation to half of the country’s population. He pointed out that despite decades of independence, women remain underrepresented in decision-making roles.

He also assured that all doubts and concerns raised during the parliamentary debate have been addressed, and necessary clarifications have been provided to members.

In another appeal, PM Modi urged MPs to reflect on the women in their own families—mothers, sisters, daughters, and wives—before casting their votes. He described the bill as a major step toward empowering women and strengthening Indian democracy.

The Prime Minister concluded by calling for unanimous support, stating that passing the bill would mark a historic moment for the nation and significantly enhance women’s participation in governance.
