Chandigarh: Shiromani Akali Dal Revival president Giani Harpreet Singh has announced the formation of an eight-member Panthic Unity Coordination Committee to strengthen Panthic unity and explore alliances with other political parties.
In a written statement, Giani Harpreet Singh said the move follows the call given by the five Singh Sahiban in light of the December 2 edicts. The initiative aims to bring Panthic organizations together under one Nishan Sahib.
Four Panthic Organizations Recently United
According to Giani Harpreet Singh, four organizations recently came together in Jalandhar to promote Panthic unity. These groups include Shiromani Akali Dal Revival, International Panthic Dal led by Jasbir Singh Rode, United Akali Dal headed by Gurdip Singh Bathinda, and Begampura Khalsa Raj Party under Gurinder Singh Bajwa.
Furthermore, leaders of these four organizations agreed to establish the Panthic Unity Coordination Committee to strengthen cooperation and expand the unity process.
Eight Leaders Included in the Committee
The newly formed panel includes Gurpartap Singh Wadala, Sucha Singh Chhotepur, Boota Singh Ransinh, Gurinder Singh Bajwa, Jatinder Singh Isru, Sant Charanjit Singh Jassowal, Bhai Mohkam Singh, and Parampal Singh Sabhra.
Moreover, the committee will soon begin consultations with farmer unions, Panthic organizations, and other political parties. The leaders plan to create a joint platform based on a common Punjab agenda.
Talks With Farmer Unions and Political Parties
Giani Harpreet Singh said the Panthic Unity Coordination Committee would initiate dialogue with various stakeholders in the coming days.
In addition, the committee will seek cooperation from farmer unions and like-minded political groups. Therefore, the initiative aims to create broader unity on issues related to Punjab and the Sikh community.
New Observers Appointed
During the announcement, Giani Harpreet Singh also named new observers for different districts.
Gobind Singh Longowal and Harvinder Singh Gaggarpur will oversee Barnala and Mansa districts. Meanwhile, Hardev Singh Hamid will supervise Muktsar and Fazilka. Similarly, Gurbhej Singh Sidhu and Jathedar Charan Singh will look after Ferozepur and Faridkot districts.

The formation of the Panthic Unity Coordination Committee marks another step toward consolidating Panthic forces. Furthermore, the initiative seeks to strengthen cooperation among organizations that share similar objectives.
