Ladowal Toll Plaza Rates Increased from April 1; Cash Payments Fully Discontinued

Ladowal Toll Rates Hiked from April 1 in Punjab

Toll charges at Punjab’s busiest and most expensive Ladowal Toll Plaza have been revised upward starting April 1, following a notification issued by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).

The new toll rates came into effect from midnight, introducing an increase of ₹5 across several vehicle categories. Along with the price revision, cash payments at the toll plaza have been completely discontinued, making electronic payment systems mandatory for commuters.

According to the notification issued on March 27, the revised toll applies not only to Ladowal but also to toll plazas across Punjab, where toll taxes have increased by approximately 3–5 percent. A similar revision had also been implemented last year on April 1.

Toll Manager Vipin Rai stated that cars, jeeps, and vans will now pay ₹225 for a single journey instead of ₹220, while round-trip charges have increased from ₹335 to ₹340.

For Light Commercial Vehicles (LCVs), Light Goods Vehicles (LGVs), and minibuses, the single-trip toll has risen to ₹365 from ₹360, while the return journey fee now stands at ₹550 instead of ₹545.

Monthly passes have also seen a marginal increase, with prices revised from ₹340 to ₹350. Meanwhile, the annual pass for frequent travelers and commercial vehicles has been increased from ₹3,000 to ₹3,075, allowing up to 200 trips.

Officials explained that toll rates are revised annually based on the Wholesale Price Index (WPI) and factors such as highway length, infrastructure facilities, flyovers, and underpasses. During this year’s revision process, toll adjustments ranged between 2.5% and 10%.

The revised rates are expected to impact daily commuters and transport operators using one of Punjab’s busiest highway routes.
