Keylong Project Advisory Committee Meeting Reviews Projects

Keylong (Kameshwar Sharma): The Keylong Project Advisory Committee Meeting preparations gained momentum as Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Kunika Akers chaired a high-level review meeting ahead of the Project Advisory Committee (PAC) session. Officials from multiple departments reviewed agenda items, assessed project progress, and discussed measures to ensure effective implementation of development schemes across the region.

The Keylong Project Advisory Committee Meeting focused on strengthening inter-departmental coordination while ensuring that every agenda item is backed by accurate data and timely documentation.

Development Schemes Come Under Review

During the Keylong Project Advisory Committee Meeting, officials reviewed the progress of several flagship development programmes. These included the Tribal Area Development Programme (TADP), the Prime Minister Jan Vikas Karyakram (PMJVK), and projects approved under Article 275(1) of the Constitution.

Additionally, officers assessed the status of various departmental development works. They also discussed pending projects and identified areas that require faster execution.

As a result, departments received directions to update progress reports before the PAC meeting.

Agriculture and Education Receive Special Focus

Health infrastructure remained another important agenda during the Keylong Project Advisory Committee Meeting. Officials reviewed ongoing health projects and assessed medical facilities available at Regional Hospital Keylong.

In addition, they discussed measures to improve healthcare services for local residents.

The Public Works Department presented updates on road construction and infrastructure projects. Likewise, the Jal Shakti Department reviewed drinking water supply and sewerage schemes, especially the proposed projects for Keylong and Billing areas.

Therefore, departments were instructed to ensure timely execution of these public utility projects.

Tourism and Essential Services Discussed

The Keylong Project Advisory Committee Meeting also covered several issues related to tourism and public services. Officials from the Animal Husbandry, Fisheries, Forest, Tourism, Technical Education, Police, Transport, and Food Supply departments participated in detailed discussions.

Moreover, the meeting focused on tourism infrastructure, communication facilities, traffic management, ski tourism, heliport construction, and public transport services.

Officials also discussed ways to improve access to essential services in remote and tribal areas. Consequently, departments agreed to strengthen coordination for faster implementation.

SDM Directs Departments to Ensure Timely Reports

SDM Kunika Akers instructed every department to submit accurate information, progress reports, and supporting documents before the upcoming PAC meeting.

Furthermore, she emphasized that better coordination among departments would improve the implementation of development projects and welfare schemes.

She also directed officials to give priority to public welfare issues while preparing agenda notes for the Keylong Project Advisory Committee Meeting.

The administration concluded the meeting by reaffirming its commitment to transparent governance and efficient project execution for the benefit of residents across the tribal region.
