Jandiala Guru (Suraj Kamlesh): Punjab Public Works Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO laid the foundation stone for the Jandiala Guru Drinking Water Project under the AMRUT 2.0 Mission.

The project will cost ₹17.19 crore. It will provide clean and uninterrupted drinking water to thousands of residents. Moreover, authorities designed the project to meet the town’s water demand until 2040.

Modern Water Treatment Plant to Benefit Residents

Firstly, the project includes a modern 7 MLD water treatment plant. It will supply safe and purified drinking water throughout Jandiala Guru.

Moreover, engineers will install 2,820 metres of 350 mm raw water pipeline. They will also lay 750 metres of 300 mm clear water pipeline.

As a result, the town’s water distribution network will become stronger and more efficient.

Comprehensive Infrastructure Included

Furthermore, the project covers much more than the construction of the treatment plant. Authorities will develop intake works, raw water and clear water transmission systems, storage reservoirs, pumping stations, chlorination facilities, and advanced water treatment systems.

In addition, engineers will install mechanical equipment, electrical infrastructure, instrumentation, and a modern SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) system to improve monitoring and operational efficiency.

Construction Timeline and Maintenance

Meanwhile, M/s A.G.C. (JV) will execute the project. The company will complete construction within 18 months.

Furthermore, the agency will operate and maintain the entire water supply system for five years after commissioning, ensuring smooth functioning and long-term reliability.

According to Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO, the Jandiala Guru Drinking Water Project will significantly strengthen the city’s drinking water infrastructure.

As a result, residents will receive a reliable supply of purified drinking water, while the upgraded infrastructure will support future population growth and improve the overall quality of urban services.
