Himachal Pradesh PGI 2.0 Education Ranking 2024-25

Shimla (Kameshwar Sharma): Himachal Pradesh has achieved a historic milestone in school education. The Himachal Pradesh PGI 2.0 Education Ranking shows that the state has secured third place among all states in the Performance Grading Index (PGI) 2.0 for 2024–25, released by the Union Education Ministry.

Moreover, when Union Territories are included, the state has reached sixth position nationwide. Most importantly, Himachal Pradesh has jumped from 13th place last year to the top tier in just one year.

Leaders Welcome the Achievement

Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee General Secretary Deepak Sharma welcomed this achievement. He congratulated Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and Education Minister Rohit Thakur.

He said this success reflects the government’s vision, transparent governance, and strong education reforms.

Strong Reforms Drive Improvement

Deepak Sharma highlighted that the government has focused heavily on education reforms. For instance, it strengthened teacher training programs. In addition, it improved school infrastructure across the state.

Furthermore, the government worked on improving learning outcomes and accountability systems. As a result, student performance improved significantly.

Big Jump in Performance Score

The Himachal Pradesh PGI 2.0 Education Ranking reflects a major improvement of 85.4 points in one year. Consequently, Himachal Pradesh strengthened its position in national rankings.

Moreover, the “Learning Outcomes and Quality” category showed outstanding performance. This indicates that reforms are working at the ground level.

Strong District-Level Performance

Many districts of Himachal Pradesh now fall under high-performance categories. Therefore, the overall education system shows consistent improvement.

In addition, officials said that reforms are aligned with the National Education Policy 2020. As a result, the state is moving toward modern and inclusive education.

Deepak Sharma expressed confidence in the future. He said Himachal Pradesh will become a model state for quality education in India.
