Hemkund Sahib Yatra 2026: Army Opens Trek Route

Hemkund Sahib Yatra 2026 Route Opened

Uttarakhand: The Hemkund Sahib Yatra 2026 has moved a step forward. The Indian Army and sevadars reached the sacred shrine successfully. Soon after, they opened the gates of the Gurudwara complex.

The Army team belongs to the 418 Independent Field Company under the 9 Mountain Brigade. They completed this task in tough Himalayan conditions. First, they performed Ardas. Then, they opened the shrine gates for further work.

Earlier, the team faced a major challenge. They had to return to Ghangaria every evening. However, things have changed now. The team can stay at Hemkund Sahib. As a result, work will continue faster and more efficiently.

Work Begins to Improve Trek Route for Hemkund Sahib Yatra

Now, the focus has shifted to the trekking path. The team will widen the route from Hemkund Sahib to Atalkoti Glacier Point. This step will make the journey safer. It will also help thousands of pilgrims.

Moreover, a wider path will reduce risks during peak travel days. Therefore, authorities expect smoother movement of devotees this year.

Army’s Long-Standing Service Appreciated

For decades, the Indian Army has supported the Hemkund Sahib Yatra 2026 and earlier pilgrimages. Every year, soldiers work in extreme weather. They face snow, low oxygen, and rough terrain.

Despite these challenges, they continue their service. Their discipline and courage stand out. As a result, devotees deeply respect their efforts.

At the same time, sevadars also play a key role. They work alongside the Army in difficult conditions. Their dedication reflects true seva spirit. Hence, the management trust praised their efforts.

Management Expresses Gratitude

The Gurudwara Shri Hemkund Sahib Management Trust thanked the Indian Army and volunteers. According to them, this joint effort shows unity and commitment.

They added that such teamwork strengthens the spirit of the Hemkund Sahib Yatra 2026. Furthermore, it ensures better arrangements for pilgrims.
