Golden Temple Staff Return ₹20 Lakh Bag to UK Family

Amritsar: In a remarkable act of honesty, staff members at Sri Harmandir Sahib (Golden Temple) returned a lost bag belonging to a UK-based family, which contained a passport and foreign currency worth approximately ₹20 lakh.

The incident occurred when a family from England visited the holy shrine for darshan. During their visit, they misplaced their bag, which contained valuable items, including passports and British pounds worth lakhs.

After being informed, the staff of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) acted promptly and successfully located the lost bag. The belongings were safely returned to the family, earning widespread appreciation.

SGPC President, Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami, honored the employees for their honesty and dedication. He stated that lakhs of devotees from India and abroad visit Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib daily, and the staff remains committed to ensuring their safety and convenience.

He further emphasized that SGPC staff take special care to safeguard the belongings of devotees, and such incidents reflect their strong sense of duty and integrity.

The UK-based devotee, S. Sodhi Singh, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Golden Temple staff for their timely assistance and support.

Senior SGPC officials, including Chief Secretary Kulwant Singh Mannan, OSD Satbir Singh, Secretary Balwinder Singh Kahalwan, Gurinder Singh Mathrewal, Private Secretary Shahbaz Singh, Assistant Secretary Harbhajan Singh Vakta, Manager Bhagwant Singh Dhangera, and Jaspal Singh Dhadda, were also present on the occasion.
