Farmers Workers Protest Over Pending Public Issues

Farmers Workers Protest Against Delayed Public Work

Amritsar (Suraj Kamlesh): The Farmers Workers Protest gained momentum in Baba Bakala after the Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee submitted a memorandum to the SDM office regarding multiple public issues.

The memorandum was submitted under the leadership of district president Ranjit Singh Kaler Bala. Farmers and workers highlighted problems linked to several government departments.

Farmers Raise Issues Against Government Departments

During the protest, committee members raised concerns related to the tehsil office, police department, electricity board, canal department and PWD department.

According to the leaders, people are facing unnecessary harassment in government offices. They claimed that officials delay public work and force residents to make repeated visits.

Moreover, farmers said revenue-related services involving kanungos, patwaris and tehsildars have become difficult for common people.

The organization demanded immediate action to resolve the pending public issues in the area.

Village-Level Meetings Planned Before Major Farmers Workers Protest

Leaders announced that village-level meetings will take place on May 19 and 20 across the region. During these meetings, residents will discuss their pending work and prepare applications related to different departments.

Furthermore, committee members said people will submit personal and department-wise applications to the SDM Baba Bakala office on May 22.

The organization urged residents to actively participate and report their unresolved issues to local committee leaders.

SDM Assures Action After Election Results

The leaders informed that the SDM Baba Bakala has assured them of action after the local body election results on May 28.

According to the committee, authorities promised to start efforts to clear pending work and resolve public complaints after the election process ends.

However, the committee warned that it would closely monitor the administration’s response in the coming days.

Farmers Workers Protest May Intensify

Committee leaders clearly stated that if authorities fail to resolve issues within the promised timeline, they will organize a large protest outside the SDM office.

They added that people have suffered for a long time due to delays in government departments. Therefore, the organization may intensify the Farmers Workers Protest if officials ignore public demands.

Leaders also appealed to residents to contact local units of the organization for help regarding pending work in any department.

Farmers Demand Faster Public Services

The committee stressed that common people deserve quick and transparent public services. Members said government departments must reduce delays and harassment faced by villagers.

In addition, they demanded accountability from officials responsible for pending files and unresolved public complaints.

Several leaders and activists attended the meeting, including Lakhwinder Singh Madh, Charan Singh Kaler Ghuman, Pargat Singh Lohgarh and many other representatives from the region.
