CM Sukhu Completes Himachal Census 2027 Self Enumeration

Himachal Census 2027 Self Enumeration Campaign Begins

Shimla (Kameshwar Sharma): The Himachal Census 2027 Self Enumeration campaign received a major boost as Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu participated in the online self-enumeration process on Tuesday. Using the official census portal, the Chief Minister entered his census details and encouraged citizens across the state to actively join this important national exercise.

Moreover, officials from the Census Operations Directorate briefed the Chief Minister about the digital census process, its key features, and the facilities available to citizens.

CM Urges Citizens to Complete Self Enumeration

During the event, Chief Minister Sukhu appealed to residents of Himachal Pradesh to complete their Himachal Census 2027 Self Enumeration before June 15, 2026.

Furthermore, he emphasized that census data forms the foundation of democratic governance and development planning. Accurate census information helps governments understand population trends, housing conditions, access to resources, and public service requirements.

As a result, policymakers can design better welfare programs and development schemes based on reliable data.

Census 2027 to Be Conducted in Two Phases

The Chief Minister announced that Census 2027 in Himachal Pradesh will take place in two phases.

The first phase, known as the House Listing and Housing Census, will run from June 16 to July 15, 2026. During this phase, officials will collect information related to houses, housing facilities, and living conditions.

Subsequently, the second phase will focus on population enumeration and demographic details.

Therefore, authorities expect the phased approach to ensure accurate and comprehensive data collection.

Fully Digital Census Process

A major highlight of the Himachal Census 2027 Self Enumeration campaign is its fully digital approach.

Moreover, enumerators and supervisors will use mobile devices to collect information directly from households. This technology-driven process will improve efficiency, reduce paperwork, and enhance data accuracy.

In addition, citizens can voluntarily submit their information online through the self-enumeration portal before field verification begins.

Special Schedule for Snow-Bound Areas

The state government has prepared a separate schedule for remote and snow-affected regions.

Population enumeration in snow-bound areas will take place from September 11 to September 30, 2026. Meanwhile, officials will conduct population counting in the remaining areas of the state between February 9 and February 28, 2027.

Consequently, authorities can ensure complete coverage even in difficult geographical locations.

Government Seeks Public Cooperation

The Chief Minister urged citizens to provide accurate and complete information to census officials. Furthermore, he stressed that public cooperation remains essential for the success of the Himachal Census 2027 Self Enumeration campaign.

According to him, accurate census data helps governments make informed decisions regarding infrastructure, education, healthcare, housing, and social welfare programs.

Therefore, every resident should participate responsibly in the census process.

Several senior leaders attended the occasion, including Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. (Col.) Dhani Ram Shandil, Dehra MLA Kamlesh Thakur, and Chief Minister’s Secretary Ashish Singhamar.
