Katra: The CISF Bus Accident Katra left nine people injured after a Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) bus skidded off the road near Tarakote on the Reasi Road leading to the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi shrine. The accident took place on Sunday afternoon while the bus was transporting CISF personnel. Rescue teams and local authorities quickly reached the scene and shifted all the injured to the Community Health Centre (CHC) Katra for treatment.
Bus Skids Off Road Near Tarakote
According to officials, the CISF bus bearing registration number JK02D-5992 suddenly lost control and skidded off the road before reaching Tarakote. At the time of the accident, several CISF personnel were travelling in the vehicle.
As a result, eight CISF personnel and the bus driver sustained injuries. Emergency responders immediately launched a rescue operation and transported the injured to CHC Katra.
Three CISF Personnel Referred in Critical Condition
Doctors at CHC Katra said that Head Constable Sammy Kumar, Head Constable M.M. Dubey, and Constable P.K. Traya suffered serious injuries.
Therefore, after providing primary medical treatment, doctors referred them to a higher medical centre for specialized care.
Meanwhile, the remaining injured personnel are receiving treatment at CHC Katra. They include:

- Constable B.D. Singh
- Constable B. Srinu
- Constable Pratyush
- Bus driver Virender Singh (Civil)
Hospital authorities stated that their condition remains stable.

Immediately after receiving information about the accident, security agencies, police officials, and the district administration rushed to the accident site.
They carried out rescue operations, secured the area, and shifted the injured without delay. Their swift response helped ensure that all victims received timely medical attention.

Police have registered a case and started investigating the incident.
According to the preliminary investigation, the bus appears to have skidded off the road, causing the accident. However, officials are examining all possible factors, including road conditions and the mechanical condition of the vehicle.
